Example Of A Resume

Hello friends! A good Example Of A Resume isn't what I currently have but I hope to improve on that. I have to update my resume again because I just got notice today that I am going to be laid off in a couple weeks. This time around though I have decided rather than  just do the usual updating by moving some lines and words around I would start from scratch with a whole new format! I have been using the same old boring format for several years and thought I would try out something new.

Currently my Example Of A Resume looks like this:

As you can see I've been with my current job for way to long! I decided to spruce up the format a bit.
I started out by replacing the Profile section with an Objective statement:

Objective:
13 year professional seeking a challenging management position in the electrical engineering field.

I
on purpose kept this short and sweet. I want my prospective employers to know what I am seeking and how long I've been working in the business.Next I decided to add a skills section so I could communicate in more detail about what I actually can do:

Skills:
•Excellent spoken and written communication skills
•Good documentation practices

•Success in taking at least one design through to high-volume production
•Schematic-level digital design (experience with ORCAD/PADS/ViewLogic/Allegro a plus)
•Logic implementation in FPGAs and CPLDs •Microcontroller/microprocessor or DSP-based system design (including firmware) •IO bus implementation (PCI-X/E, USB, ISA, AGP, etc.)
•Peripheral component design (Ethernet, memory subsystems, etc.)
•Digital and mixed-signal PCB design

•Power conversion and distribution; battery technology (Lithium, Solar, Fuel Cells, etc) knowledge is a plus
•Product test methods, fixtures and programming in a high-volume manufacturing environment. DFM, DFT, BIST experience.

Finally I decided add a references section just to round up the format:

References:
Available Upon Request

I don't recommend actually listing references on your resume because of the personal information contained. Plus, if you don't even get an interview from applying for a particular job they are not going to check your references anyway.

So as you can see with a little work you can totally change up the format of that old dusty resume to better reflect your current position in the job market to employers which, increases your chances of landing that new job!I hope this information has been helpful and I wish you the best in your job search!
